The Art, A Hotel
I just returned from an EPIC trip to Denver, CO where I explored only a fraction of the art that the city has to offer. A huge part of what made my trip so memorable was the fact that I stayed at the ART, a hotel, which is essentially a museum you can spend the night at!
Here’s some background on the hotel:
Surrounded by the city’s most iconic cultural and architectural landmarks the ART, a hotel employs a privileged location in Denver’s Golden Triangle. We seek to add another layer to this rich environment by presenting a curated collection of original works of art that celebrate the creative spirit of 20th and 21st century artists from around the world.
The art on view at the ART, a hotel was chosen to provide our guests with unique and unexpected opportunities to enjoy works of art in a luxurious and sophisticated, yet casual environment. Certain works, such as Leo Villareal’s installation of THRESHOLD in the porte cochere and Larry Bell’s LIGHT KNOTS in the ART, a hotel restaurant, FIRE, were commissioned especially for the ART, a hotel. Others were acquired from artists as far-flung as Dusseldorf, London, New York, Vietnam, Los Angeles and of course, Denver, Colorado.
I created a series of matches with a few of the pieces in their permanent collection! Check them out here:
