The Dressed To Match process is definitely a "I'll know it when I see it" situation. Even when there's some uncertainty (like how closely a dress actually matches the art), I can tell when I'm forcing it too much. When a match is right, it's undeniable.
When I shot this match last weekend, Moco Museum London had only been open for a week, so I didn’t have much time to plan before my trip. There were just a few reels showcasing pieces from the collection, so I didn’t have much content to reference for finding matches. I ended up improvising, which is my worst nightmare—I hate missing out on a matching opportunity!
By the time I arrived in London, I had somewhat resigned myself to the fact that I might not find a perfect match this time, which actually relieved a lot of self-imposed pressure.
One afternoon, my friend Christie and I were exploring Selfridges, checking out the men's streetwear. The moment I saw a camouflage sweater, my heart raced with excitement—it felt like a pure rush of dopamine.
