Nov 19 UNITY Mural

You know how much I love sharing my favorite murals in Sacramento with you - well, there’s a fantastic one that is hiding in plain sight and it’s located inside Arden Fair Mall. Yep, you read that right, inside the mall!

If you haven’t been to Arden Fair lately, well, prepare to be inspired. Their new UnchARTed program is dedicated to supporting the local arts through various medias like this beautiful floral mural by Tyson Anthony Roberts and Jeremy Stanger! I’ve actually matched murals by both of these artists previously - click here for Jeremy’s and here for Tyson’s, but this collaborative piece called UNITY really takes the cake.

As a born and raised Sacramentan, I’ve been shopping at Arden Fair Mall ever since I can remember. I have some really fond memories of shopping there with my mom and going to the most popular stores like Limited Too, Hearth Song (I actually really miss this store!), FAO-Schwartz, Imaginarium, Nordstrom, and many others. Hilariously enough, I actually worked at the Arden Abercrombie & Fitch (store #549!) working as a greeter from 2006-2007. Needless to say it was a rather easy job but I loved the discount!

As the stores I love to shop at have changed over the years - hello, Madewell and Lululemon! - the overall look and ambiance in the mall has changed, too! The UnchARTed program has really enhanced the space, bringing life and creativity to the shopping experience.

Everyone always asks, which comes first? The art or the dress? In this case, I had been eying the UNITY mural for a while. With every visit to the mall, I’d “check in” and admire the mural lovingly, leaving determined to find a match for it! While the process of finding a match can sometimes be easy and instantaneous, most often I just have to be really patient until I find the right dress. Ironically enough, I ended up finding this perfect floral dress by Stine Goya one day while shopping at the Nordstrom inside Arden Fair. So, I guess it was meant to be all along!

A few months back I had a follower suggest I add some accessories to my matches and I couldn’t think of a better excuse to wear a pair of Lele Sadoughi’s lucite floral earrings. They not only compliment the dress, but also the mural!
