Hello!

Welcome to Dressed To Match. I’m Michelle and I coordinate my outfits to match pieces of art!

You might have noticed that I usually choose dresses for all of my matches – there’s a couple reasons why. One, dresses are easier. Rather than finding a coordinating top and bottom, it’s a one-stop shop. The other reason is definitely the more important of the two.

There is nothing like the feeing you get when you put on a beautiful dress. I can recall so many occasions – both special and everyday – where I’ve put on a unique dress and boom! I’m suddenly standing taller, shoulders back, feeling like I can conquer the world.

That “transformation,” happened when I put this Mira Mikati dress on. The silk gauze overlay is incredibly chic and as I was standing in front of the piece I didn’t do my awkward “help me I don’t know how to pose!” pose. This time was different. I felt incredibly confident and fierce, basking in the light illuminating from Falvin’s florescent bulbs. Let me tell you, that is NOT how I normally feel when I’m doing these matches. To be honest, I’m usually a nervous wreck – especially when onlookers start staring!

Mira’s dress empowered me to let go of my insecurities and HAVE FUN! I love how the simple pattern mimics that of Flavin’s ultra minimalist sensibility and the matching palettes are a home run in my book!
