This is one of my favorite paintings by Sacramento landscape artist Timothy Mulligan that is featured in his new show “The Re-Imagined Landscape” at the gallery. The palette is unexpected and I never thought I would find myself loving coral / salmon paired various shades of green. Who would have thunk, it totally works! I suppose the designers at Tibi had the same thing in mind when they used an extremely similar palette on their asymmetrical ‘Pieza’ slipdress. It’s a beautiful ode to spring with its light chiffon layers and the color blocking throughout. Together these pieces have a modern edge executed with a soft touch. Neither is edgy in any sense of the word, but the underlying geometry that links the two is visually very appealing to me.
